The Role
We are looking for a Senior Vehicle Preparation Technician to join us at our brand new opening ‘Used Vehicle Sales Centre’ in Wolverhampton. The role will primarily entail carrying out PDI’s and preparations to Used & New vehicles in readiness for their delivery to the purchaser. A methodical individual, with very high standards and a keen eye for detail is essential for this role. As this role is of a senior nature, it will also entail controlling a small team of fellow technicians, being responsible for the workshop on a day to day basis and communicating with both management and sales executives both internally and externally, along with suppliers and 3rd party contractors too.

Working Hours
08:00am – 17:00pm, Monday to Friday
42.5 Basic Weekly Hours
Flexible approach to working hours.
Saturday morning working may be required on rota.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the efficient running of the workshop and maintaining high standards at all times.
- Hands on technician role combined with supervisory and planning responsibilities.
- Communicating with the site manager & site administrator regularly in relation to all workshop matters including progress on vehicles.
- Install a ‘right first time’ mentality with all technicians, mentoring to achieve great standards and productivity at all times.
- Ensure correct diagnosis pathways are taken to minimise downtime.
- Providing support to fellow technicians as/when required.
- Ensure team compliance with Manufacturer processes to ensure recording and invoicing accuracy.
- Ensuring good housekeeping and security in the workshop, leading by example, including First Aid & Health & Safety.
- Implement processes & procedures to ensure high standards are always met in the preparation of new & used vehicles.
Person Specification
- Prior knowledge of the automotive industry.
- Previous experience of preparing new & used sales vehicles to an extremely high standard.
- Proven experience of coaching and mentoring staff.
