Stralis X-Way tractor unit to make UK debut on IVECO stand at Tip-ex 2019

IVECO’s first Stralis X-Way 6×4 tractor unit to arrive on UK shores will take pride of place on its outdoor stand at Tip-ex 2019, just days ahead of its delivery into service with Purfleet-based Brocks Haulage.

The bulk excavation specialist has already added multiple new Stralis X-Way 8×4 tippers to its fleet in 2019, after being impressed by the performance of an IVECO demonstrator. Now, its first IVECO tractor unit will enter service with a wet kit for operating the firm’s tri-axle tipping trailers.

The arrival of the Stralis X-Way double-drive tractor AT440X48TZ/P OFF will give the firm a prime mover which combines excellent fuel efficiency and safety technologies with the ultimate comfort of the road-going Stralis cab. It is designed by IVECO to give operators the confidence to tackle ‘final mile’ deliveries onto construction sites with ease, while ensuring high productivity, safety and excellent total cost of ownership (TCO).

Also on display on IVECO’s stand will be a Stralis X-Way 8×4 rigid (AD340X42Z), part of the North East Truck & Van (NETV) demonstrator fleet. This vehicle will feature a Boweld tipper body for heavy-duty work in on/off-road applications.

It’s presence at the show will highlight the suitability of the Stralis X-Way for companies in the construction, demolition, waste and local authority sectors. It has been built by IVECO in ‘OFF’ chassis specification – one of three options available alongside ‘ON’ and ‘ON+’. This ensures the vehicle is suitable for off-road missions, with a set-up combining excellent ground clearance and the ability to tackle steeper approach angles.

It will be exhibited alongside a 3.5-tonne Daily tipper – one of around 11,000 configurations of Daily available in a range which includes vans, chassis cabs, crew cabs and chassis cowls. The Daily Euro 6 is available in the UK at gross vehicle weights from 3.5 to 7.2 tonnes, with wheelbases from 3,000 to 4,750 mm, making it perfect for heavy transport jobs in the construction sector.

Completing IVECO’s Tip-Ex line-up will be a Stralis NP (Natural Power) tractor unit, which will be available for testing on local roads from the dedicated vehicle demonstration area. The Stralis NP stands out for its ability to support the most sustainable logistics thanks to an impressive 99 per cent reduction in particulate matter and 90 per cent in NO2 emissions compared to Euro VI standards. Plus, when running on biomethane, it reduces CO2 emissions by as much as 95 per cent.
