Guest Truck and Van v Sherwood Truck and Van Charity Football Match

Guest Truck and Van v Sherwood Truck and Van Charity Football Match

Charity Football Match

The first inter-company football match, Guest Truck and Van  v  Sherwood Truck and Van, was a great success and raised £1,144 for our three chosen charities; Help Harry Help Others, Muscular Dystrophy UK and Cancer Research UK.

The English Football Association’s National Ground, St. George’s Park in Burton, certainly set the scene for the game with all the players soaking up their prestigious surroundings.  Although, we’re sure the parking space that was marked ‘Sam Allardyce’ is now ‘England Manager Needed, Enquire Within’.

After the fulltime whistle the players retired to a local public house, where the match was celebrated and the GUEST SHERWOOD CUP presented to Sherwood, who were the winning team after scoring five goals, thanks to Dean Bradshaw, Niall Green, Ian Rhodes, Ethan Millington and Danny Harris.

The next match has already been discussed and players are, we’re sure, training and practising as we speak.  After all, there’s a lot at stake. Company pride and all that.

Thank you to everyone who donated towards these very worthwhile charities.  Congratulations to Dawn Gunn, who won the raffle prize, an ipad 64GB Air 2 in gold.
