ELECTRIC VAN GOVERNMENT GRANTS AND INCENTIVES
TFL SCRAPPAGE SCHEME
The Mayor Of London has launched a new £110m scrappage scheme which provides financial assistance to help eligible Londoners scrap their highest polluting vehicles to prepare for the expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) across all London boroughs in effective from August 2023.
This new initiative from Transport for London is designed to help small businesses and charities operating in London switch to zero-emissions vehicles. If you own a diesel van that’s Euro 5 or below and weighs 3.5 tonnes or less, you can now trade it in for a brand-new electric vehicle and get up to £9,500 (detail of the TFL scheme on its own) off the retail price.
IVECO are pleased to be partnered with TFL Scrappage scheme offering an additional £1,000 support when you trade in your old vehicle for a new IVECO eDAILY, meaning new eDAILY customers can receive *£10,500 off the retail price.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
This is a great opportunity to get a new, zero-emissions vehicle that will help you save money on fuel and maintenance costs, as well as avoid charges when London’s Ultra Low Emissions Zone expands.
IVECO eDAILY is a class-leading electric vehicle that’s perfect for small businesses and charities that need a reliable, efficient vehicle for deliveries and a variety of tasks, with a range of up to 174 miles on a single charge, the eDAILY is perfect for local deliveries, while its 3.5-tonne towing capacity makes it ideal for a wide range of other applications.
HOW TO QUALIFY?
The scheme is open to small businesses of 10 employees or less, sole traders, and charities operating within London boroughs. To qualify, you’ll need to scrap your old diesel van and provide proof of ownership and use for at least 12 months. You’ll also need to show that your business or charity has been registered for at least 12 months and has a London address.
Once you’ve been approved for the scheme, you’ll be able to choose from a range of IVECO eDAILY models and get up to £10,500 off the retail price. This is a fantastic opportunity to make the switch to zero-emissions vehicles and help reduce air pollution in London.

IVECO EDAILY - SAVING YOUR MONEY
The good news is that electric vans are currently zero-rated when it comes to road tax. The Government has given van drivers the same incentives to go electric as it has car drivers, so annual road tax for all 100% electric, zero-emissions vans is £0
All 100% electric vans are completely exempt from the London Congestion Charge, and the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge. Many other UK cities are introducing their own congestion charges and limiting access to non-electric vehicles, therefore a fully electric van will soon become the only way to go.
If you’re working in London or Manchester, an electric van could save you £3,915 a year on congestion charges.
The rules for reclaiming VAT on an electric van are the same as for any other type of vehicle, it must be used exclusively for business. If you use the van for a mix of personal and business travel, you will not be able to claim any of the VAT on it. Proving that you only use the van for business may be difficult to prove to HMRC.
