Peter marks 45 years at Guest Peterborough
Wednesday 18th April 2018
Having joined the company 45 years ago, Peter Noble is officially the longest-serving employee at Guest Truck and Van Peterborough.
Peter (65) was appointed as a vehicle technician at TC Harrison in 1973, before Guest Truck and Van took over the IVECO interest in the company.
During his time with the business, Peter has qualified as a tachograph specialist and a HGV technician.
“I started working on tachographs back in 1976 and we’ve certainly seen a lot of changes since then - from the old plastic tachographs through to the brand new digital types,” recalls Peter.
“I’ve enjoyed working with vehicles for as long as I can remember! I even used to help my dad with his car when I was a young lad.”
As well as marking his 45th year with the company, Peter also celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary to wife Eeva-Riitta, as they married in March 1978.
“2018 has already been a memorable year for me,” continued Peter. “It’s a nice feeling to know I’m the longest-serving staff member at our Peterborough branch.
“I’ve stayed at Guest because it’s a really friendly company to work for - the managers always have time for their employees which makes a huge difference; we’re not just another number in the business.”
